Digital Switchover - where and when?

Digital switchover is happening right across the UK between now and 2012, so within four years the whole country will have switched from analogue to digital television.

This is being done on a regional basis, The exact date for your area will be widely publicised in local press and on local TV news programmes, but this map will give you some idea of the government's published timetable:

The map shows the approximate dates when digital switchover will happen in each region.

For example: in the Yorkshire area it is planned to occur in the third quarter of 2011.

Orkney and Shetland will switch at the same time as the highlands of Scotland - 2010-Q2.
